The Responsibilities of the district works department are to: 

1. Plans, designs and implements projects  
2. Provides technical backstopping; 
3. Monitors and evaluates projects
4. Formulate policies for the efficient management and administration of the Class; 
5. Provide technical backstopping for the RCCs and MMDAs; 
6. Offer technical assistance to the LGSS, RCCs and MMDAs in all engineering matters
